Background vocalists are great accompaniment…BUT there's something uncanny about the way harmonies and note choices are made when people who are related make music together.
There's an almost effortless blending of sound. The ebb and flow, the pick up and put down of every. single. note just amplifies the sound. The impressive building of vocal ability comes from years of close proximity to each other. The more life they do together the more the music can speak to it.
The book of Acts is Luke's account of what happened after Jesus returned to heaven. The Acts 2 church is often used as the model for how churches organize today.
Furthermore, today’s scripture informs us that unity and proximity are how the disciples also strategized. They shared everything. This brought them closer together and in enough proximity to encourage/edify each other's gifts.
This is your reminder that you cannot do life alone. Allow God in your heart so that it can be opened to the right people. Community will change your life for the better. Because we are better together.
